(L.A.) Randy Bekstrom, a Baby Boy, Died in 2023

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a male child.

The coroner’s office has identified the infant boy as Randy Bekstrom.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Intrauterine Fetal Demise

Cause of Death B: Maternal Demise

RIP BABY BOY BEKSTROM (August 10, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:40 a.m.

The child’s mother, Randi Bekstrom, passed away on July 20. For official purposes, the child’s date of death was listed as August 10.

Previously posted simply as “Baby Boy,” his name was posted as “Randy” by the M.E. on August 26.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 27, on the same date that the cause of death was published for the mother.

Intrauterine fetal demise is the medical term for a stillbirth. Instead of classifying this as a natural death, the manner was ruled an accident, perhaps because the mother was found to have meth in her system. Drug deaths are frequently classified as an accidental overdose.
