(L.A.) Remmie Cervantes, a Baby, Died From Sepsis

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the infant girl as Remmie Cervantes.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Acute Streptococcus pyogenes and Klebsiella pneumoniae Sepsis

RIP REMMIE CERVANTES (November 28, 2022 – October 25, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:31 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 2.

The child was about 11 months old. She should have been given antibiotics early on. There is no excuse for healthcare professionals to let a child die from sepsis in this day and age.
