(L.A.) Branden McBrier, 42, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Brandon McBrier.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Dilated Cardiomyopathy

RIP BRANDEN MCBRIER (September 14, 1981 – January 23, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

On March 9, the government investigator inexplicably changed the spelling of the decedent’s forename from Branden to Brandon.

There is a California birth record for a Branden Demitrious McBrier, who was born on September 14, 1981, in Shasta County. His mother’s maiden name is Mitchell.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner on the COD was published on May 20, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
