RIP DARRYL WINBORN (September 8, 1961 – February 22, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:20 p.m.
According to mainstream media, the decedent passed away right after being supposedly pepper-sprayed on a bus in Koreatown. The suspect Trayvon Isiah Willingham, 30, was booked after he was interviewed by LAPD detectives in the 3300 block of Long Beach Boulevard early Monday morning.
Willingham was aboard the Metro bus at approximately 10:50 p.m. when he became involved in an altercation with the 62-year-old man who would die. Willingham was held on $2 million bail.
The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
It appears the district attorney had already rejected the case and ordered the release of the suspect on February 28. Under 849.5PC, Willingham was not arrested but merely detained.
