(L.A.) Joselito Abella, 45, Died in a Hotel

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old male that occurred in a hotel.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joselito Abella.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 1:20 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 3, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The government investigator has initially provided the decedent’s race/ethnicity as Latino before later changing it to Asian.

According to a family member, he was of German descent on his mother’s side and Filipino on his father’s side.
