Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 17-year-old Asian male that occurred in a park.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Alexander Toyama.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Macaya.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 12:06 a.m.

This is the earliest reported suicide in L.A. County in which bupropion was explicitly mentioned as a cause of death.

It was only in the year 2004 that the FDA decided to require a boxed warning on antidepressants regarding the risk of suicidality in young adults.
