(L.A.) Cleophis English, 63, Died From Polydrug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Cleophis English.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Fentanyl, Xylazine and Cocaine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP CLEOPHIS ENGLISH (February 24, 1961 – July 3, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 11:40 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 3, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental overdose.
