(L.A.) Chevy Womack, a Baby, Died From a Dog Bite

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a White/Caucasian female that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the infant girl as Chevy Womack.
Manner and cause of death have not yet been officially announced by the medical examiner; the information will be added to this page as soon as it becomes available.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 1:05 p.m.
The month-old child died after being bitten by a dog in Torrance.
Emergency personnel had responded to the 2700 block of Martha Avenue at around 12:35 p.m. upon receiving an “animal bite call.”
Torrance Fire Department personnel arrived and found that a dog had attacked a baby. The infant was brought to the hospital.
City of Torrance Animal Control has taken possession of the dog.
