(L.A.) Hae Seok Kim, 88, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 88-year-old Asian male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Hae Seok Kim.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 6:44 a.m.
The decedent was crossing a street in Koreatown when he was hit by a vehicle. The car driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or ascertain the situation.
The incident happened at the intersection of 7th Street and Western Avenue. In the aftermath, the elderly man’s mangled eyeglasses could be seen on the ground as part of the crime scene.
The victim was in fact on a marked crosswalk when he was hit. The car is thought to be an Acura.
Establishments prominent in the area include Pho Gyu, Boba Story, a McDonald’s and a Ralphs supermarket. The Metro Station and Wiltern Theater are one block north.
