(L.A.) Eric Wright, 38, Committed Suicide

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eric Wright. Brown hair. Blue eyes. Height: 6 feet 1 inch. Weight: 159 pounds

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death A: Anoxic Encephalopathy

Cause of Death B: Asphyxia

Cause of Death C: Hanging

RIP ERIC WRIGHT (February 18, 1985 – March 25, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 5:52 p.m.

The decedent was in the custody of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department when he allegedly hanged himself. He died in the intensive care unit of Cedars Sinai Hospital.

He had been arrested by LASD’s West Hollywood station patrol on March 17, at around 8:40 a.m.. That was a Friday, St. Patrick’s Day.

A booking record shows he was “released” on March 22, at around 3:15 p.m. This may have been the time of his suicide attempt and transport to hospital.
