(L.A.) Bertron McGuire, 59, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Bertron McGuire.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Cocaine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Hypertension

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 7:04 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the COD ruling on January 31, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.

The government investigator has originally misspelled the decedent’s forename as Betron.
