Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Charles Brown.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP CHARLES BROWN (March 30, 1998 – May 20, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 4:40 a.m.

The decedent was killed during a shooting in South Los Angeles that occurred at about 4:20 a.m. in the 8900 block of Western Avenue, near 89th Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim was taken to a hospital.
