(L.A.) Dae Hwan An, 61, Shot Dead on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old male of Korean ethnicity that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Dae An.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound Of Head

Approximate time of incident: 11:42 am

Incident location: 3000 West 5th Street, Los Angeles 90057, a residential section in what may be considered Westlake, just east of Koreatown proper

According to family members, it happened almost in front of the decedent’s house, where he had lived for 21 years since immigrating from South Korea.

A male suspect was arrested on the 11th, the day after the crime, but the motive remains unknown.
