(L.A.) Hannah Collins, 30, Died from Drugs
Case Number: 2023-10616
Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 30-year-old White/Caucasian female.
The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Hannah Collins.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Effects
RIP HANNAH RACHEL COLLINS (August 1, 1993 – August 13, 2023)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 1:50 a.m.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was made public on October 20, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.
The decedent’s body was found wrapped in plastic in a man’s room by his mother, who was checking out a “gas smell” at her South Los Angeles home.
Collins had only moved to Los Angeles from Mississippi in June. She last spoke to relatives on August 7, days after celebrating her 30th birthday.
The suspect in Collins’s death has only been described as a Hispanic man in his mid-twenties. He was nowhere to be found at the time of the body’s discovery.
