(L.A.) Joseph Santana, 31, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joseph Santana.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Head
RIP JOSEPH ANTHONY SANTANA (December 14, 1990 – June 14, 2022)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 5:49 p.m.
The decedent was one of two police officers killed in El Monte at the Siesta Inn on 10327 Garvey Avenue, where they had responded to a reported stabbing.
Both officers were shot in the head and later transported to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where they died.
The man who shot and killed them Justin William Flores, 35, who died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Flores shot the two officers moments after they entered a motel room where he had been holed up Tuesday and then ran into the parking lot, where he exchanged a second round of gunfire with other responding officers.
