(L.A.) Matthew Tran, 35, Committed Suicide

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old Vietnamese male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Matthew Tran.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death A: Multisystem Organ Failure

Cause of Death B: Ingestion Of Laundry Detergent

Other Significant Condition: Bipolar Disorder

RIP MATTHEW TRAN (October 4, 1986 – June 11, 2022)

So far, of the over 150,000 death records that L.A.’s medical examiner has publicized since the 1990s, this is the only case where laundry detergent was identified as a cause of death.
