(L.A.) Mickey Cooper, 64, Died in a Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Black male that occurred in a park in Pasadena.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mickey Cooper.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Head

RIP MICKEY COOPER (December 8, 1958 – November 18, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 4:29 a.m.

The decedent was fatally shot at Washington Park. He was the younger brother of Lakers legend Michael Cooper.

Pasadena police had responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot-detection alert in the 700 block of East Washington Boulevard, between Lake and El Molino avenues.

Aaron Miguel Conell, 24, has been charged with the murder.
