Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Nazario Perez Herrera.
Manner of Death: Natural
Cause of Death: Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus, Unknown Type
Other Significant Conditions: Human Metapneumovirus, Cigarette Use

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling in early September, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.
Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a respiratory virus that can cause symptoms similar to those of other respiratory infections, such as the common cold or influenza. It was first discovered in 2001 and is known to cause illness primarily in children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
