(L.A.) Quaid Birdsall, 17, Ended His Life

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 17-year-old Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Quaid Birdsall.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Probable Benzonatate Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 6:38 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 20/21, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive.

It appears the decedent had filed a petition for declaration of emancipation of a minor on February 8, 2022. The petition was denied on March 15, 2022.

The parties involved in the case were listed as Jason L. Birdsall and Salena Birdsall.
