RIP SETH BROOKS BINZER (August 23, 1974 – June 24, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 12:13 p.m.

Shifty Shellshock was the co-founder and front man of the rap rock band Crazy Town, known for their hit song “Butterfly.” He also had a solo music career and appeared in the reality television series Celebrity Rehab 1 and 2 and Sober House 1 and 2.

Crazytown and Punky Brewster

Binzer was dating childhood friend and Punky Brewster actress Soleil Moon Frye when he was arrested for a DUI in L.A. in June 2022. They broke up the following year.

Deadbeat Father

In April 2022, his ex-girlfriend Tracy Shelor claimed Shifty Shellshock owed more than $64,000 in child support and had refused to pay any medical costs for his diabetic son – even as he was enjoying vacations to Hawaii.

Jeremy S. Siegrist

An actor working in Hollywood, Jeremy Scott Siegrist was only 20 years when he died on March 30, 1993.

“… you intentionally robbed my boyfriend as he lay dying from a fall off of a cliff. While he had a huge hole in his head and was bleeding out, [you] decided to take his jewelry off of him including rings, a watch and his bracelet. Then you proceeded to go to his house where I saw you there to see his family with a few of his closest friends. You proceeded to pretend that you were greeted and gained access to his room where you went through all of his drawers and his belongings and stole over $10,000 that he had saved for an apartment to move out. I saw you at his funeral and afterwards you threw a final goodbye party at your house for him which I also attended. I was horrified to see that you had stolen his license and wallet and was using his California drivers license in order to cut up cocaine. Apparently you spent all of the money that you stole on drugs instead of giving it to his family to whom it actually belonged. I was horrified by your actions back then and I told you so. You lied straight to my face about what you did to him while he was fighting for his life.”

There were even allegations that Binzer had purposely pushed Siegrist off the cliff.

The incident began about 5 p.m. Tuesday, when paramedics flew in to aid a backpacker near Eagle Rock in the Trippett Ranch area of Topanga State Park. The hiker, Jeremy S. Siegrist, 20, of Marina del Rey, had apparently fallen 150 feet to his death.

One crew member accompanied Siegrist to Westlake Medical Center, where doctors attempted unsuccessfully to revive him.

After much anticipation as to whether anyone would care to pay for the service, Shellshock’s body was finally picked up from county facilities by a funeral home on June 27.
