(L.A.) Tamala Smith, 55, Died in a Hotel/Motel

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Black female that occurred in a hotel/motel.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Tamala Smith.

Manner of Death : Undetermined

Cause of Death : Undetermined After Autopsy and Toxicology Studies

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Renal Failure of Unknown Cause

RIP TAMALA SMITH (May 13, 1967 – February 18, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:50 p.m.

Initially, the medical examiner stated that they could not make a conclusion as to whether this was a suicide, accident, homicide or a natural death. But for some reason, on February 5, 2024, the Department published their determination that this was a natural death.

The case has been closed, and the pathologist on record is Dr. Jack Guccione.
