(L.A.) Vadilal Patel, 57, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 57-year-old “Caucasian” male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Vadilal Patel of Buena Park, California.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP VADILAL PATEL (April 5, 1946 – September 23, 2003)

The decedent was South Asian / Desi / Indian. He was a native of India who had been in the United States for a few years and was running a general merchandise wholesale business in Buena Park.

The shooting happened as he was walking outside a Long Beach strip mall mall in the 8100 block of Wardlow Street at around 12:15 p.m.

Two men walked up to him and one shot him. Robbery was a possible motive.

He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:20 p.m.
